Singing is only a small part of the reason for SMAP's current fame. All of the members of SMAP have acted in numerous popular television dramas, variety programs commercials, and movies, but each also cultivates a distinctive image and personalities.


Masahiro Nakai
B-day: 18 August 1972
Born in: Kanagawa
Height : 165 cm
Blood type : A

is the "leader" of the group and has hosted numerous television programs through out the years. He is a notorious bachelor and trickster. He is known for his bad singing. He frequently wears a hat and has long hair, although his look changes frequently.
Utaban is the most famous show with him as the host, along with Ishibashi "Taka-san" Takaaki (a famous comedian.) Nakai & Kimura together are the 2Top of Smap. They went to high school together and have strong relationship than it appears to be. All Smap members are frequent guests of the annual top 10 Japanese male artists (by the account of their revenue), but Nakai often ranks at the top. Kimura may be the most popular male artist ever in Japan, but Nakai's warm, funny and complex image have earned him the most talented artist title. Nakai has the best image among the public


Takuya Kimura
B-day : 13 November 1972
Born in : Tokyo
Height : 176 cm
Blood type : O

has appeared in many extremely successful television dramas. He has been said to be the "sexiest guy in Japan". He cultivates a heartthrob image, as well of that of a devoted husband. After his breakout role in Asunaro Hakusho, Kimura became the cover boy for many magazines. In 1994, the so-called Kimutaku (a contraction of Kimura Takuya) syndrome shook Japan. Kimura was voted AnAn's favorite guy, Best Jeanist, etc. He was voted Best Jeanist from 1994 to 1999 and became a "forever Jeanist". He is still AnAn's favorite guy, having won the vote 12 times consecutively (as of 2005). In 1995, Kimura acted in a movie called "Kimi wa wasurenai," and was praised by critics and viewers alike. Many of the dramas he has acted in, such as "HERO" and "Beautiful Life," hold records for Japanese viewership.
Kimura's accumulated more than enough charisma CF, attention drawing news, & classic drama roles to earn him the title of the most successful and well-known male Japanes artist.


Goro Inagaki
B-day : 8 December 1973
Born in : Tokyo
Height : 176 cm
Blood type : O

is one of the main vocalists of the group. He has his own late-night variety programme called Goro's Bar, and also acts in television dramas as well as occasional stage plays.
Goro also has numerous drama and inpersonation roles whic are loved by many. He's said to be the prince of Smap. He also has great knowledge in wines and other things which other Smap members usually mock him on.


Tsuyoshi Kusanagi
B-day : 9 July 1974
Born in : Saitama
Height: 170 cm
Blood type: A

speaks Korean and is known as the best dramatic actor after Kimura, appearing in the critically-acclaimed "Hotel Venus." He has soft features and projects a "sensitive" image. In 2005, he went to Thailand to learn more about the lives of orphans there, and documented the trip for a television special of SMAP's weekly variety program SMAPXSMAP.
With the big new film, "Japan Sinks," Tsuyoshi, again, proves his superb acting skills. Tsuyoshi started his alter ego, choNamKan, in year 2003. It was meant to be a seasonal show with Tsuyoshi out in the front, and Tsuyoshi came up with the idea of going into the Korean entertainment market, he had the dream of becoming the Kimutaku of Korea. Unfortunately, he didn't make it into Kimutaku, instead, his ChoNamKan role and image has been extremely popular in Japan.
Tsuyoshi is said to be the popular member among Smap memeber becuz he has a warm, big heart and great personalities.


Shingo Katori
B-day : 31 January 1977
Born in : Yokohama, Kanagawa
Height : 183 cm
Blood type : A

is known for his use of English and even has a popular guidebook, "English Berabera," published in his name (English speakers who watch SMAP may dispute claims that he knows the language). For a while he dyed his hair white, making him stand out in the group. At one point he also had dreadlocks. He has also done significant anime voice work, most notably the role of Riiya in Akazukin ChaCha.
Shingo is the most selling author in SMap. He has released numerous books that top the chart. Shingo is the youngest member who's full of ideas and very spontaneous. His regular 'Ooishi' corner in SxS Bistro proves it. Shingo also has great talents in all talent fields, furthermore, he has great talents for arts. He often designs and draws pictures for Smap or other goods.


KATSUYUKI MORI (ex componente)
B-day: 19 Februaryy 1974
Born in: Tokyo
Height: 180 cm
Blood type: B
a retired Smap member, he was a Smap member up til the single, Naked King.
